Day 1 – Reef Experience

A trip to Cairns is not complete without a visit to the Great Barrier Reef!

Join us on board our high-speed Catamaran “Reef Experience”. You will have an unforgettable day. Visit 2 pristine Outer Great Barrier Reef locations. Discover the breathtaking wonder of the Great Barrier Reef.

Reef Experience is Cairns’ only ALL inclusive Great Barrier Reef tour. We also offer a FREE Scuba Dive and Glass-bottom boat tour.

Your day at the Great Barrier Reef

Reef Tour Itinerary

  • 07:30 – Board Reef Experience boat at the Cairns Marina ‘A-Finger’ for check-in
  • 08:00 – Approximate departure & Safety Talk with snorkel briefing
  • 08:30 – Marine Biology presentation. Followed by a detailed scuba dive briefing for those participating
  • 09:30 – Arrive at our first spectacular reef site. Snorkel & dive with thousands of vivid tropical fish, giant clams plus more
  • 10:30 – Glass Bottom Boat Tour (approximately 20 minute tour)
  • 12:30 – Lunch
  • 13:00 – Cruise to our second location. Explore forests of coral, large sea fans & black coral trees in its shallow lagoons
  • 15:00 – Depart the Great Barrier Reef
  • 15:30 – Glass of wine, tropical fruits, cheese & biscuits
  • 16:30 – Arrive back in Cairns

How to get there

Reef Experience departs from Cairns Marina: ‘A-Finger’ View map to Cairns Marlin Marina

Boarding commences at 7:30 am for check-in, directly on the vessel ‘Reef Experience’.

Arrive back to Cairns Marina at approximately 4:30pm.

Important Information for Scuba Diving

Your Safety Is Our First Priority

We have a passion to show you Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.  Please make sure you understand the scuba diving laws.

Queensland, Australia has some of the strictest scuba diving rules in the world.  It also has the safest scuba diving record.  We are regulated by the Queensland Government Code of Practice. We comply with all rules including medical as is the law.

To avoid disappointment on your day of travel we strongly recommend that you complete our dive medical questionnaire prior to booking.  Some medical conditions, age and / or medications may prevent you from scuba diving.   It is always our mission to provide our passengers with the very best Great Barrier Reef experience.

Flying after Scuba Diving

For a single no-decompression scuba dive, you should not fly or go to altitude for at least 18 hours.  For multiple dives, you should not fly for 24 hours after your last dive. If Skydiving or Hot Air Ballooning you must wait 24 hours after your dive. We recommend waiting a minimum of 24 hours whenever possible.

Day 2 – Tully River Whitewater Rafting

Tully River is Australia’s most famous White Water Rafting adventure. An action-packed experience filled with fun, thrills, and spills. A day you will never forget!

Whitewater rafting on the Tully River is an extreme five-hour adventure. Set in a beautiful rainforest. Enjoy rafting on grade 3 and 4 rapids surrounded by the beauty of the rainforest.

  • 15:00 – Time change into dry clothes
  • 15:45 –  Arrive at Rafters Cafe & Bar.
  • 17:00 – Return to Mission Beach accommodation
  • 18:30 – Return to Cairns accommodation (approx.)
  • 19:15 – Return to Northern Beaches accommodation

  • Minimum age is 13 years
  • Under 18 year old must travel with a guardian or parent
  • Rafting is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant

Day 3 – Daintree Rainforest Tour

The Daintree Rainforest is a part of the Wet Tropics of Queensland. The only place in the world where two World Heritage Listed places meet.
