Great Barrier Reef Day

Join the crew aboard “Reef Experience” for an unforgettable journey to 2 (two) pristine outer Great Barrier Reef locations and discover the breathtaking wonders for yourself.

Reef experience is the only FULLY INCLUSIVE Great Barrier Reef Trip departing from Cairns. Inner City Bus transfers, BBQ Bacon and Egg Rolls for breakfast when boarding, unlimited snorkelling, Certified Dive or Introductory Dive (Subject to Medical Conditions), Glass bottom boat tour and more are all part of your day.

Tour Itinerary

  • 07:30 – Board Reef Experience boat at the Cairns Marina ‘A-Finger’ for check-in View map to Cairns Marlin Marina
  • 08:00 – Approximate departure & Safety Talk with snorkel briefing
  • 08:30 – Marine Biology presentation, followed by detailed scuba dive briefing for those participating
  • 09:30 – Arrive at our first spectacular reef site, snorkel & dive with thousands of vivid tropical fish, giant clams plus more
  • 10:30 – Glass Bottom Boat Tour (approximately 20 minute tour)
  • 12:30 – Lunch
  • 13:00 – Cruise to our second location to explore forests of coral, large sea fans & black coral trees in it’s shallow lagoons
  • 15:00 – Depart the Great Barrier Reef
  • 15:30 – Glass of wine, tropical fruits, cheese & biscuits
  • 16:30 – Arrive back in Cairns

Important Information for Scuba Diving

We have a passion to show you Australia’s Great Barrier Reef so please make sure you understand the scuba diving laws.

Queensland, Australia has some of the strictest scuba diving rules in the world  but also the safest scuba diving record.   We are regulated by the Queensland Government Code of Practice and comply with all rules including medical as is the law.

To avoid disappointment on your day of travel we strongly recommend that all of our passengers complete our dive medical questionnaire prior to booking as some medical conditions, age and / or medications may prevent you from scuba diving.   It is always our mission to provide our passengers with the very best Great Barrier Reef experience.

Flying after Scuba Diving

For a single no decompression scuba dive, you should not fly or go to altitude for at least 18 hours after a scuba dive.  For multiple dives you should not fly for 24 hours after your last dive. If Skydiving or Hot Air Ballooning you must wait 24 hours after your dive. We recommend waiting a minimum 24 hours whenever possible

 

Tully River Rafting Day

Cairns White Water Rafting  will then experience the fun, thrills and spills on Australia’s most famous “Tully River”.  Negotiating up to 45 rapids on a day you will never forget.  As you Ride the rush of exciting Grade 4 rapids your trained and experienced whitewater rafting guides offer all the tuition needed, teaching you the best techniques during the day and will share with you the history and wonders of this magnificent landscape which few get to see.

  • Rafting through World heritage rainforest
  • Grade 3 and 4 rapids
  • Riverside BBQ Lunch
  • 06:10 – Pick ups from Northern Beaches accommodation
  • 06:30 – Pick ups from Cairns accommodation commence
  • 07:00 – Depart Cairns
  • 07:30 – Pick ups from Mission Beach accommodation
  • 08:00 – Depart Mission Beach
  • 08:30 – Arrive at Rafters Cafe for morning tea and coffee
  • 09:00 – Depart Rafters Cafe & Bar
  • 09:45 – Arrive at top of the Tully River for a safety demonstration and to be supplied with safety equipment
  • 10:00 – Commence rafting. Brave the first few rapids,
  • 12:15 – Arrive Ponytail Falls for  BBQ lunch
  • 12:45 – Commence afternoon rafting
  • 15:00 – Arrive at take out point. Pack up raft and change into dry clothes
  • 15:45 – Arrive at Rafters Cafe & Bar.
  • 17:00 – Return to Mission Beach accommodation
  •  18:30 -Return to Cairns accommodation (approx.)
  • 19:15 – Return to Northern Beaches accommodation

  • A cap or sun visor which can be worn under your safety helmet (eg. baseball hat)
  • Water resistant 15 + sunscreen
  • Swimming costume and towel. (you will need to have your swimming costume already on when you are picked up)
  • Secured footwear is mandatory – lace-up shoes or sandals that will get wet (limited shoe hire available at an additional cost)

  • We strongly recommend you bring an extra t-shirt or rash vest to wear under your life vest to prevent sunburn

Daintree & Cape Tribulation Day

Today you will be heading north from Cairns to Cape Tribulation and the Daintree Rainforest, travelling along on one of the most scenic coastal roads in Australia.

You will enjoy a wonderful day visiting the Wildlife Habitat, Daintree River Cruise, Alexandra Lookout, Rainforest Boardwalk and time on the Cape Tribulation beach are only a few.

To fully appreciate the ancient Daintree Rainforest it is a must to cross the Daintree River into the heart of the “Wet Tropics Rainforest”.

Not long after the drive off the cable ferry you will find yourself in a different world.
