Great Barrier Reef Day Tour Adventure

Reef Experience, Cairns’ only ALL inclusive Great Barrier Reef Cruise with FREE scuba dive. Two pristine Outer Great Barrier Reef locations are visited daily for optimal diving and snorkeling.

Tour Itinerary

  • 07:30 – Board Reef Experience boat at the Cairns Marina ‘A-Finger’ for check-in View map to Cairns Marlin Marina
  • 08:00 – Approximate departure & Safety Talk with snorkel briefing
  • 08:30 – Marine Biology presentation, followed by detailed scuba dive briefing for those participating
  • 09:30 – Arrive at our first spectacular reef site, snorkel & dive with thousands of vivid tropical fish, giant clams plus more
  • 10:30 – Glass Bottom Boat Tour (approximately 20 minute tour)
  • 12:30 – Lunch
  • 13:00 – Cruise to our second location to explore forests of coral, large sea fans & black coral trees in it’s shallow lagoons
  • 15:00 – Depart the Great Barrier Reef
  • 15:30 – Glass of wine, tropical fruits, cheese & biscuits
  • 16:30 – Arrive back in Cairns

Important Information for Scuba Diving

We have a passion to show you Australia’s Great Barrier Reef so please make sure you understand the scuba diving laws.

Queensland, Australia has some of the strictest scuba diving rules in the world  but also the safest scuba diving record.   We are regulated by the Queensland Government Code of Practice and comply with all rules including medical as is the law.

To avoid disappointment on your day of travel we strongly recommend that all of our passengers complete our dive medical questionnaire prior to booking as some medical conditions, age and / or medications may prevent you from scuba diving.   It is always our mission to provide our passengers with the very best Great Barrier Reef experience.

Flying after Scuba Diving

For a single no decompression scuba dive, you should not fly or go to altitude for at least 18 hours after a scuba dive.  For multiple dives you should not fly for 24 hours after your last dive. If Skydiving or Hot Air Ballooning you must wait 24 hours after your dive. We recommend waiting a minimum 24 hours whenever possible

Daintree and Cape Tribulation

Explore the exceptional biodiversity and ancient history of the UNESCO listed Cape Tribulation and Daintree National Parks.

Your day begins travelling north along the scenic coastal highway, Great Barrier Reef drive to your Daintree River Cruise where you will see abundant wildlife and maybe even a prehistoric saltwater croc!

You will have the chance to wander along Cape Tribulation Beach,  enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch served in a private rainforest setting.

Visit the pristine waters of Mossman Gorge indigenous presentation by the traditional owners of the gorge, the Kuku Yalanji people

This is an eco accredited tour led by experienced guides ensuring you the most memorable day.

This tour operates with a GPS activitated Audio Commentary system.   The system is completely portable and wireless and is GPS triggered.  commentary is delivered with both sound effects and music.  You can bring along your own headsets or purchase some on the day at an extra cost.  Languages include:  Japanese, German, French, Italian, Chinese and Spanish.

  • 06:45    Hotel Pickups commence
  • 09:50    Daintree River Cruise for 1 hour – gliding through this ancient wildlife environment
  • Next stop Alexandra Look out for a photo stop of the spectacular view of Daintree River, Snapper Island and beyond to the Coral Sea
  • 12:15    Tropical BBQ Lunch in a private rainforest setting on Noah Creek
  • Then to Cape Tribulation for a walk on this world-renowned rainforest beach where the rainforest meets the reef
  • 15:15    Mossman Gorge Centre where you will visit the Gateway centre and enjoy an Indigenous Presentation by the local Kuku Yalanji people.  You will then have the opportunity to walk in the rainforest along Mossman Gorge with your guide sharing his knowledge
  • 18:30    Approximate return time to you hotel

Kuranda Scenic Rail and Skyrail

Combining the Scenic Train journey with the world famous Skyrail Rainforest Cableway is a great way to experience this World Heritage listed tropical rainforest and Kuranda.

Travelling by the scenic Train you will learn about the pioneering history of the tropical north on your trip from Cairns to Kuranda.

On your return to Cairns you will travel on Skyrail Rainforest Cableway which provides an extraordinary birds-eye-view of the rainforest as it soars silently only meters above the rainforest canopy.
